English Language & Literature (AS/A-Level)

This course combines study of language and literature so, for example, you`ll study a novel but you will be looking closely at how the writer is using language. You also get to study the history of English Poetry from the Middle Ages to today and to produce your own writing for different audience and purpose. In the second year you focus on the language of speech and learn how to write transcripts. You also get to study more literature including plays. Well respected by universities and employers this course is taught by a team of specialist English Teachers who love their subject and try to make it as much fun as possible.
