
This exciting course prepares you to work with children in their early years and their families by developing both your knowledge and practical skills. You will develop an understanding of observation and assessment and discover how to plan activities that promote learning. You will learn about babies in the first year of life and the stages of a child`s development. You will look at the importance of play and a stimulating environment, as well as working safely and physical care. You will consider issues such as Child Protection and anti-discriminatory practice, and learn about working with parents. Practical Training is carried out in the form of work placements on every alternate week at a variety of settings.
