Economics (AS/A-Level)

This exciting new course at Wilberforce College will give you the opportunity to think about one of the most important questions of all; how do people make a living and why are some people wealthier than others. Economics is a fascinating subject because it includes the study of how people behave and interact with each other. It is about how we provide for our wants, both individually and as a society, given the limited resources available to us.

If you have ever wondered why prices seem to keep going up, why the Government has to tax us or why professional footballers earn so much money then economics will help you to answer those questions. The study of Economics is about the ways in which we as consumers, businesses and the Government make decisions. The subject is all about what is happening in the economy today and how the decisions of the main players affect all of us. It is a subject that is alive and kicking.
