English (GCSE)

English GCSE is one of the most important basic qualifications you can have. Most employers and training courses set it as part of their entry requirements so it is definitely worth working hard to improve your grade. You will develop speaking and listening skills - individual presentations, group discussions and drama focused work. You will read a selection of poetry, a play by Shakespeare and a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. You will learn to write for a variety of purposes and audiences - writing to entertain and writing to analyse.
