History (AS/A-Level)

This course offers you the opportunity to study contrasting countries and periods, examine historical sources and the work of historians and develop valuable skills of discussion, enquiry and analysis. You will be encouraged to form and present your own opinions. Topics that can be covered include: King John, the English Civil War to 1653, the rise of National Socialism, civil rights in the USA, Stalin`s Russia, Fascism in Italy, Hitler`s Dictatorship and the Tudor and Stuart period in Britain. Students enjoy lively lessons and last year visited Lincoln, Beverley and participated in trips to the cinema and master classes at Hull University.
