The Launch

Wilberforce College is delighted to announce ‘The Launch’ – a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Astronaut Michael Foale here at Wilberforce College in Hull on 1st March 2017.

As well as working with and inspiring students from our college and neighbouring schools during the day, Michael will also give a presentation open to the general public at 7pm in the evening.

Born in Louth, Lincolnshire, Michael will talk about his many great adventures and achievements in space including a life of exploration.  This visit offers a unique insight into the drive and ambition behind his extraordinary life.

Some of Michael’s  many accomplishments:

• 375 days in orbit
• 6 trips into space on shuttle and Soyuz missions
• Serviced the Hubble telescope
• International Space Station Commander
• Helped rescue the Mir space station when it was damaged

It will be an unforgettable evening!

Tickets for the presentation are available from the college and details can be found on the attached posters.
We are also offering a corporate option which includes a buffet and networking opportunity prior to the main event.
Interest is expected to be high and places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
