Anthony Price - Freelance Animator
Anthony attended Wilberforce College from 2008 – 2010 and studied A Levels in Art, IT and Media. He is now a Freelance Animator and has worked on Eddsworld, Weebls-Stuff and Mashed, a YouTube channel funded by Channel 4. We caught up with him to find out a bit more about his career so far and his time at Wilberforce College. Read his interview here.
Ben Chapman – Trainee Barrister
Ben is currently training to become a Barrister, after completing his undergraduate degree at Hull University and Masters at York University. He studied Maths, Further Maths, History, Law and Business at Wilberforce College and really enjoyed the freedom of college life, which gave him the opportunity to self-learn. Callum Jackson – Production & Promotions Team Leader, Force7
Alongside studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Business & Management, Callum works for a local marketing agency on events. He has also just signed up to work for a company called HPFT events, which organises tours for the likes of Katherine Jenkins. Gemma Hornby – Marketing Executive Hull Daily Mail
Gemma attended Wilberforce College between 2008 – 2010 and studied A Levels in Business, Law and PE. Gemma works in the marketing team at the Hull Daily Mail and is also responsible for marketing the Grimsby Telegraph and Scunthorpe Telegraph. Joe West – Matchmove Artist, Double Negative
Joe West completed his Film Studies A Level and BTEC National Certificate in Media at Wilberforce College from 2005 – 2008. He is now part of a 450-strong team at London-based visual effects company, Double Negative. In 2015, his team won an Oscar and BAFTA for their work on Hollywood blockbuster, Interstellar. Lucie Dixon, Professional Ice Skater
Lucie studied A Levels in Law, English Literature and History at Wilberforce College. After leaving college, Lucie completed a Law degree at Hull University and worked as a paralegal. Her career then changed direction, and she followed her passion for ice skating. Lucie is now a professional ice skater, touring South America as Princess Anna in a production of Frozen. Matthew Ombler – PGA Assistant Golf Pro
Matthew attended Wilberforce College between 2009 and 2010 and studied a BTEC in Sport. After completing his course, Matthew studied Sports Health and Exercise Science at Hull University and is currently studying Golf Business and PGA at Birmingham University. Matthew is working as a PGA Assistant Golf Pro at Gangstead Park Golf Club and hopes to become Head Pro at a Golf Club in the future. Read his Wilberforce story here.
Gary Peacham – Coaching Manager for New Zealand Rugby League
Gary attended Wilberforce College from 2001-2003 and studied PE, Psychology, Sports Coaching, GNVQ ICT and Computing. He now lives in New Zealand and is in his dream job coaching New Zealand Rugby League. Find out more about his Wilberforce story here.
Natalie Bell – Broadcast Journalist 96.9 Viking FM
During her time at Wilberforce, Natalie studied Media, Art and Psychology. She also wrote for the student magazine and developed a real passion for journalism, and has fulfilled her dream of becoming a journalist. Watch an interview with Natalie here.
